Unzip the archive to any folder and launch executable. Select your 'Mixer device' (your sound-card name), and your WAVE/MIDI volume controllers and press 'OK'.
Please note ScoreExtractor only supports uncompressed WAV files, if you have another format try to Google any online converter and convert your file to uncompressed WAV.
To start click 'File->New Project' file menu, at the first tab select a file you want to convert and click 'Next', on the next tab you can amend a project name/folder, click 'Next'.
On the last tab your can preview a sonogram, leave all the settings by defaults and click 'Finish'. This will take few minutes to calculate a sonogram.
On the top toolbar you have the main selector to switch between play and draw modes.
In the play mode you can left click to select a position to play from or drag to select a region to play.
Use toolbar buttons on the left to control playing a file.
In the draw mode you can draw notes on a sonogram by left click and remove them by right click.
While you are playing a file you can adjust volume of both source file and your drawn notes by moving volume controller on the toolbar.
If you will move it to max left you will hear source file only, if you will move it to max right you will hear your drown notes only.
When you are done click to 'Project->Save MIDI To File'.
You can use several MIDI tracks/instruments in ScoreExtractor.
Also it's possible to record a sonogram for your notes and compare it with the source sonogram.
